In this “Pieta” bust, the face of the Mother portrays a sorrow that is restrained. A restraint that speaks of a foreknowledge of the grief that would flood her soul on Calvary. She knew why God chose one of the children of men as His own Mother. She knew of our sin, our weakness and our need of a Prince of Peace. She accepted the cross when she said: “ Be it done unto me according to your word.”
